About our family-run business...

We are Cherry Tree Bespoke, a family-run business established in 2017 specialising in handmade kitchens and bespoke furniture. Our workshop is nestled in the North Norfolk countryside where each of our projects is expertly crafted using methods we’ve gathered over 25 years of furniture and cabinet-making.

Integral to how each Cherry Tree Bespoke piece works, our focus is centred around family life, craftsmanship and sustainability. Finding clever ways to utilise your space, maximise storage and integrate each piece into how you live is fundamental to our mission. We work with you closely to find out about your lifestyle and the unique character of your home so that our designs incorporate personal, meaningful elements that make your space both beautiful and functional.

As a small team of perfectionists, we set ourselves incredibly high standards and take great pleasure in guiding our clients through the journey of their piece from consultation, design drawings and workshop visits, to material samples, home installation and the finishing touches.

Our ethos is built around you, in the same way that our bespoke furniture is. We believe that every one of our clients is an extension of our family and so deserves the very finest experience; from the way we forge an understanding of how you wish to use your space, to the way we communicate with you and guide you through the making process from an idea through to the seamless integration of each piece into your home.

Expert Craftsmanship

We believe in the true craftsmanship of cabinet and furniture making and skilfully make each and every piece using quality, responsibly-sourced materials with both traditional and innovative techniques by hand at our fully-equipped workshop. By combining precision methods such as dovetailed drawers and mortise and tenon joints, with lifetime-guaranteed, German-engineered details like drawer runners and hinges, our work is built to last. We want you to be a part of your project’s story and so if you’d like to book a time to come and visit our workshop so you can see how we work first-hand, please get in touch with us here

Richard's Story...

Richard Lloyd is a skilled craftsman; a kitchen and cabinet maker who lives in Norfolk with his wife, two children and their Sprocker Spaniel, Brody. From a very young age, Richard knew what he wanted to do and that his future held the joy and craftsmanship of bespoke carpentry and furniture making. On leaving school, Richard was accepted onto a furniture-making course and qualified with NVQs Level 2 and 3 at college. Whilst learning his craft, Richard was keen to gain as much experience as possible and so worked part-time at a local cabinet-maker’s alongside his studies, and later furthered his skills as an apprentice at a high-end kitchen manufacturer. Working across all of Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and London, Richard truly loves what he does and has since gained 25 years of specialist experience in cabinet and furniture making, and now works from his very own company’s artisanal workshop in North Norfolk - Cherry Tree Bespoke. A keen problem-solver by nature, Richard likes to work with those awkward spaces in our homes that are difficult to fill and to find a worthy purpose for; with a meticulous eye for detail, he enjoys making something of their character, turning them into a space that is both functional and beautiful. The workshop is one of Richard’s happy places, a creative workspace filled with traditional techniques, the highest-quality materials and innovation too. By continuously perfecting his craft, he works to enrich the spaces he creates each piece for, along with the everyday lives of the families that live within them. Our Steps Towards Sustainability

Since nature is what provides us with the beautiful materials we work with, we value sustainability and are conscious of the environmental effect our craft has on the world around us. We are always keen to explore ways to lessen our impact on the planet and to give back to nature in the best way we know how…

- We plant a tree for every order we receive

- We only use responsibly sourced FSC wood (Forest Stewardship Council)

- We source our timber locally wherever possible

- Our waste materials go towards heating the workshop

- We use low-VOC, water-based paint ranges

- Each piece is built to last, eliminating the need to replace them over time

- We are continuously striving for more ways to work sustainably
